Sandy Zhao

Growing up at a music studio, Sandy had come to love all different kinds of music and instruments. In fact, the first instrument she ever played was not the piano, violin or guitar⎯⎯⎯⎯it was a traditional Chinese instrument called the Hulusi.

Since Kindergarten, the owner of the studio, let her play any instrument she wanted. Since then the music studio has become her second home. Sandy continued to learn the Hulusi from kindergarten to grade 3, a total of 6 or so years before she moved to Canada. During these years, Sandy also learned the guitar, drums and Chinese flute. 

Currently in grade 9, Sandy is passionate about fingerstyle guitar. It aided her when composing songs which she does whenever she feels inspiration. Besides guitar, Sandy also plays the piano, and Alto Sax in her school concert band. Sandy also dances Hip Hop and hopes to become professional someday.
